true life: Jersey Shore [May. 18th, 2006|11:31 am]
"You got to meet them people in church or a supermarket or something like that" -a big guido on where to meet a girl for a long term relationship, as opposed to a Jersey Shore club.

i swear, i was a marine biologist [May. 17th, 2006|06:21 pm]
I got the job at the gym!! I start after Memorial Day weekend, which by the way will be spent at LBI with Dan, Jess, Zach, and Zach's friends! I still need to get another job, as the gym will be part time..but still, its something and exactly where I wanted to work.

So, really, summer plans include (thus far): training for work, work at the gym, living with my sister in New Bruns mostly, LBI and more weekend beach trips with Dan and friends, camping with Dan and whomever, lakehouse a few times, reading the twenty five books that I had no time for during the school year, learning basic Italian, swimming as much as possible, running everyday, studying LSATs, horseback riding, volleyball and tennis, dance parties, shopping like crazy, dogwalks in dogparks, boats--and that's only until July. Then I'll be in the gorgeous semi coastal town of Urbino Italy studying art. I have class Monday through Friday from 9am-12pm, and the beach is only about a half hour bus ride away! The university is beautiful and looks like a castle. I'll probably get A's in both art classes I'm taking, and that will help my GPA! Unfortunately I'll have to study for the LSATs while I'm there, but if I do that on the beach it won't be that bad. When I get home on August 12th it will be about two weeks til my 21st birthday!

Maybe its just me, but my summer looks pretty damn amazing so far. I'll get to hang out with my wacky sister a lot, maintain and continue being in good shape, become more cultured, and just enjoy time with my friends and boyfriend. Life rules!

I'll admit to being a terrible livejournaler, but truth be told, there are many more things I'd rather be doing. Anyhow, all administrative issues aside, there's an awful Carrot Top movie on right now.

Finding a job has proven to be a truly humbling process. The fact that I'm twenty years old and have never worked during the school year casts an unforgiving shadow on the rest of my resume. I don't want to be seen as an inept, overprivledged college student from Suburbia who gets everything from her parents, but the odds are against me on that one. I want to prove (to myself, mostly) that I can get a job completely on my own, without anyone's connections. Don't get me wrong, I loved working at the Bergen County courthouses and clerks office and interning for the freeholders, and I would do it again in a second, but my summer holiday in Italy prevents that. I had an interview yesterday at a publishing company, which I hope works out, because it's ten dollars an hour and the people seem really nice. I have another one today at a physical therapy office and then at the gym, which I am at so much I may as well work there too.

Junior year ended well, so far I got three A's and one B+. I'm awaiting my last grade, which I fear is either a B or B+. If its a B+, my GPA is a 3.8, and if its a B, a 3.675 or something.

This past Sunday marks three months with Dan. He is by far the best thing to happen this year. I have never met anyone who is as fun or gets me as much as he does, so quickly nonetheless. Falling in love was certainly not in my plans for this year, but I think it worked out perfectly and I wouldn't have it any other way.

possibly disturbing fact number two [May. 1st, 2006|08:53 pm]
Medium fries and a side salad with low fat dressing from Wendys is better for you than a "healthy" vegetarian wrap from Au Bon Pain. I just threw out the $4.99 Mediterranean wrap I took a bite of because 571 calories and 22 grams of fat is absolutely disgusting for one meal.

woah [Apr. 23rd, 2006|03:36 pm]
Dear Carolyn,

The beginning of your certification for graduation will begin during the
summer. As you end your junior year, it is important to make sure that
all data on your record is accurate. Please take a few minutes to
review the information below and make any necessary changes per the
instructions. Most changes are a simple mouse-click away, so please
take care of this now to avoid complications in your senior review. If
the information below is accurate, you do not need to respond.

When you return to school in September, you will receive a Senior Review
Form based on the information below in your RPO mailbox. It will
explain what you need to do to complete your degree requirements and
advise you of the steps necessary for graduation. In the meantime, you
should check your progress toward completion of your major(s) and
minor(s) with advisors in those respective departments.

And it goes on. A little over a year left in this place.

I've been giggling at this "dude in uggs" in my Women and Public Policy class for about a month now. Yesterday I found out that "he" is really a she.
